MANASQUAN - The polls have closed, ballots have been cast and residents have made their voices heard in Manasquan. With 4,806 total votes in the race for Manasquan council and 4,965 in the race for Board of Education, five candidates are in the lead as of Wednesday morning, according to the Monmouth County Clerk’s Office.

Two council seats are up for grabs this year on the Manasquan Borough Council, with current councilman Jay Bryant and Charles Kelly - both Democrats - running against Republican candidates Lori Triggiano and Brian Holly. As of 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Republican Triggiano and Holly are leading with 1,522 and 1,403 votes each and all four districts reporting.

Three spots on the Manasquan Board of Education are also up for grabs this election but only the three incumbent members M. Alexis Pollock, Martin J. Burns, and Donna Bossone filed petitions to run.
