Manasquan: Be Careful What You Flush Amid Coronavirus Crisis

MANASQUAN – Manasquan has sent out an advisory to people since masks and gloves are in heavy use amid the coronavirus crisis:

Be careful what you flush.

Manasquan officials have asked people to not flush anything other than toilet paper into the sanitary sewer system.

Officials say there should be no toilet flushing of improper items such as discarded gloves, masks or wipes into the sewer system.

Such improper discharge of these items into the sewer system is strictly prohibited and could cause blockages to the system "that can be very costly to the borough and the homeowner."

"Protect the health of our sanitation crews. Please dispose of all trash in sealed (tied tightly) trash bags!" the town said.

On its webside, Manasquan officials also reiterated the state's mask-wearing orders, saying any businesses can decline entry to any customer who refuses to wear a face covering for non-medical reasons
