MPD Investigating Burglary Attempt

Several thefts also reported last week

Manasquan police investigated an attempted burglary in the borough last week, authorities said. 

According to a release from the Manasquan Police Department, Patrolman Michael Tischio responded Aug. 20 to the call of an attempted burglary on Perrine Boulevard. 

Police last week also responded to reports of five thefts, including items stolen from two cars and the theft of a bicycle, the release says.

The following incidents were investigated by police last week: 

  • Aug. 20: Attempted burglary on Perrine Boulevard. Patrolman Michael Tischio investigated.
  • Aug. 21: Theft of a wallet and watch from a motor vehicle on Riverside Drive. Special Officer Matthew Spardaro investigated. 
  • Aug. 21: Criminal mischief on First Avenue. Patrolman William Sutton investigated. 
  • Aug. 22: Theft of a bicycle on Union Avenue. Patrolman William Sutton investigated. 
  • Aug. 23: Simple assault on First Avenue. Special Officer Nicolle Farina investigated. 
  • Aug. 23: Theft of a camera from a motor vehicle on East Main Street. Patrolman William Sutton investigated. 
  • Aug. 24: Theft of a purse on First Avenue. Patrolman William Sutton investigated. 
  • Aug. 25: Criminal mischief on Second Avenue. Patrolman Thomas Morton investigated. 
  • Aug. 25: Theft of aluminum plates on First Avenue. Special Officer Jesse Waterson investigated. 
  • Aug. 23: Harassment on Parker Avenue. Patrolman Thomas Morton investigated.
