Manasquan’s First Avenue Repairs To Be Completed By May: Officials

The borough has provided updates regarding the major repair project on First Avenue. Here's the latest:

MANASQUAN, NJ - The borough of Manasquan's ambitious improvement plan set to repave and improve drainage on First Avenue is expected to conclude by May, according to a municipal announcement.

Per an April 13 update from the borough, While construction was planned to recommence the week of March 21, due to emergency work, the work recommenced the week of April 11.

The duration of the remaining project work is expected to be around 45 days. Due to a winter shutdown, the project is expected to be “significantly complete” by early May, the announcement reads.

Current work includes utility and sanitary improvements, as well as “exploratory investigations” along First Avenue between Ocean Boulevard and Riddle Way.

No work will be performed on weekends, and First Avenue will periodically be blocked to thru traffic in sections during the work day. First Avenue will remain open during non-work hours. Work will commence no earlier than 8 a.m.

Further down the line, concrete curb and gutter improvement will be installed at houses under construction the week of April 18. Milling and paving operations will take place (weather permitting) the week of April 25. Road Closures are to be expected and further information will be provided the week of April 19.

“All efforts will be made to limit inconvenience to affected residents and businesses,” the borough added.

Completed works on the project include ADA-compliant ramp upgrades, utility work including fire hydrant improvements and water system distribution valves. Read more: New Timeline For Manasquan's First Avenue Paving Project
