New Jersey Surfing Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony Slated For Saturday

Ceremony will take place at the Algonquin Arts Theater in Manasquan.

The New Jersey Surfing Hall of Fame will celebrate more than 100 years of surfing history beginning at 5 p.m. at the Algonquin Theatre in Manasquan.

The newly-formed organization will honor 16 surfers who are already in the East Coast Hall of Fame as charter members and introduce the first class of 18 members, according to the group’s Facebook page.

The event starts at 5 p.m. with an optional pig roast luau from Max Devros and a cash bar in the Algonquin Courtyard. Music and a DJ will play the best in surf music from the 1950s and up. to today. A pop-up museum will be set up in the Victoria J. Mastrobuono Studio and several New Jersey-based surf artists will also be on hand to show off their talents.

A dessert table from the Chocolate Bar in Manasquan will follow the ceremony.

Tickets are $25.
