Non-Profit Root to Rise to host event raising funds for those recovering from addiction

A gift auction fundraiser and donation yoga class will be presented by Root to Rise on Saturday, March 12th from 12-3pm at Porta in Asbury Park. The fundraiser will help to support the organization which provides free programs and services to those recovering from drug and alcohol addiction.

Amy Budinich is the founder of Root to Rise, and is hoping this gift auction will help raise the necessary funds to provide Root to Rise a permanent home in Asbury Park.

“We want to bridge the gap between rehab and reality. Beautiful things happen in rehab centers and detox facilities, but when one leaves there they are most likely reentering their previous environment. We want to help these individuals cultivate new healthy habits, as well as offer a safe space for at risk youth in our community,” says Budinich.

The yoga class will be taught by various certified yoga teachers from the surrounding areas and suggested admission to the event is $20.

About the Organization: The mission of Root to Rise is to break the mental barriers and stigma associated with addiction by pushing the limits of what is physically and mentally possible. The organization seeks to open a physical location in Asbury Park in 2016. Free resources will be provided in this location to those in recovery with programs such as yoga, meditation, financial literacy and resume building, among others.
