Ultrasound services acknowledged for exceptional care and quality.
Ocean Medical Center has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in Ultrasound as the result of a survey by the American College of Radiology (ACR). This upholds the department’s ACR accreditations for nine modalities, a status earned by only a handful of providers in the region.
“ACR accreditation demonstrates Ocean Medical Center’s commitment to quality patient care,” says Michael Unterman, M.D., department chair of radiology at Ocean Medical Center. “With all of our imaging modalities being accredited, patients can have a high level of confidence in knowing that our staff delivers exceptional clinical care with a personal level of customer service.”

The ACR is a national organization that awards accreditation to facilities for the achievement of high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation of the practice. Evaluations are conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. They assess the qualifications of the persnnel and the adequacy of facility equipment. The surveyors report their findings to the ACR’s Committee on Accreditation, which subsequently provides the practice with a comprehensive report.
