Proud to be a volunteer

Today the spirit of brotherhood was shared with others as the local fire service lays to rest a hero.
Union Beach Fire Fighter Robert Meyer, who passed while fighting a fire on Sunday. Fire Fighter Meyer was awarded the Carnegie medal in 2004 for the saving the life of a man trapped in a burning building. Robert Meyer actions will not be forgotten. We honor his memory and pray for his family during this trying time! We are ALL in this together!
A large group of local fire departments from Monmouth County reported on Saturday June 14th to their fire station to do something special like in Bradley Beach, Sea Bright to report with many other departments to cover the stations of the affected fire departments so they could not worry about their duty to the public but could pay their respect to their lost brother.
I wish to pay tribute to all the volunteers who worked together today to show that we do it right in Monmouth County Proud to say I am a Volunteer. Wendy Ella May retired FF/EMT Bradley Beach New Jersey.
