Democratic Mayor Ed Donovan Wins Manasquan Primary (UPDATED)
Democratic Mayor Ed Donovan has won.
Democratic Mayor Ed Donovan won the contested primary on Tuesday in his run for re-election in Manasquan.
Councilman Michael Mangan sought to unseat Donovan in the Democratic Primary, saying he has the support of the majority of council.

- Michael Mangan 245 votes
Councilman Richard Read ran unopposed in the Democratic Primary for council.
Mangan said he wanted to increase customer service and responsiveness, fix road flooding and drainage issues, expand programming for seniors and recreation and improve the beach and parks. He also wants to keep taxes stable.

Donovan said he wants to "move Manasquan forward in a positive way." He said the town must continue on the path that has resulted in a "stable tax rate, necessary infrastructure improvements, flood mitigation and improved communication, municipal services and public safety."
