Republicans, Democrats Duke It Out In Belmar Mayoral Race This Year
Here's who's running:
BELMAR, NJ — Republicans and Democrats will duke it out in the Belmar mayoral race this year.
Current Belmar Mayor Gerald Buccafusco, a Democrat, chose not to run for re-election. His term ends in December.
Councilwoman Caitlin Donovan, Democrat, filed to run for mayor. Johanna Roper-Robinson (D) is her running mate, running for a seat on the Council. Roper-Robinson ran for Belmar town council in 2024, without success. She's currently on the library board and the Belmar Public Housing Authority Board.

Current Councilman Michael DeBlasio is the Republican candidate for mayor, and he is running with longtime resident Suzanne Anan (R) for town council.
The primary election will be June 2. The general election will be in November.
