Robert 'Robbie' J. Carhart Of Manasquan Dies At 62
Services for Eucharistic Minister at St. Peter's Church slated for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Robert “Robbie” J. Carhart, 62, of Manasquan, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend to all that knew him, passed away suddenly on April 25 at home.
Rob was born in Pompton Lakes, NJ and grew up in Spring Lake. He was a 1970 graduate of Manasquan High School, and served in the United States Army 101st Airborne Division. He was a retired iron worker from Metal Lathers Local 46 in New York City.

He was a Eucharistic Minister with and a parishioner of St. Peter’s in Point Pleasant Beach. Rob enjoyed early rises, riding his Harley Davidson to the Manasquan Inlet, looking for UFOs, playing cards with his wife, Shirley’s pizza, calls to his daughters just to say “hello”, playing trains with his grandson Cooper and snuggles with his granddaughter Sophie. He was an active part of the Spring Lake Community Theater where he was affectionately known as “Speedy”. He was a passionate lover of life that filled the room with his loud and infectious laugh.
Rob was predeceased by his mother, Janet Carhart and his father, Joseph Carhart. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Shirley, his daughter Kara and her husband Chris Lovell, and his daughter Heather and her boyfriend Dave Imperato. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Cooper and Sophie. Also surviving are his sister, Jill Carhart of Toms River and brother, Patrick Carhart of Gore, Oklahoma and his nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Peter’s Church, 406 Forman Avenue, Point Pleasant.. For more information and to leave tributes, visit www.OBrienFuneralHome.com.
