UPDATE: Route 35 In Belmar Has Been Reopened After Tidal Flooding This Morning, Mayor Says
Sections of the roadway were also closed yesterday due to storm.

Route 35 through Belmar is now reopened after flooding from an “extreme” high tide this morning, Mayor Matt Doherty said on Twitter.
Portions of the roadway were also closed at times yesterday from high tides.
The National Weather Service is calling for moderate coastal flooding this morning and major flooding in certain areas during the lastest high tide this morning.

“Roadway flooding will persist overnight,” the NWS said. “Widespread roadway flooding and some damage to vulnerable structures is expected on Tuesday morning. Wave action will result in significant beach erosion.”
