St. Rose Soccer Opens Season in Limelight
Grammar school team joined New York Red Bulls on field for MLS opening ceremony

The St. Rose Grammar School boys soccer team got a taste of the "big leagues" last week when it lined up alongside the New York Red Bulls on the field of their northern New Jersey arena, officials said.
The Major League Soccer (MLS) team invited the St. Rose boys to kick off their 2012 season in style, letting the youngsters participate in their Sept. 19 opening ceremonies on the field at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, according to school spokesperson Kristi Gorman.
The sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-graders, donning Red Bulls uniforms, also stood alongside the professional players during the National Anthem before a crowd of more than 10,000, Gorman said.
