Stoedter Pleads Guilty in Wife's Shooting Death
The former Manasquan resident pleaded guilty to the 2005 shooting and faces up to 10 years in jail

Alan Stoedter has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the 2005 shooting death of his wife Donna.
The incident occurred at the couple's then home Church Street in Manasquan.
The Associated Press has reported that the 65-year-old man could face up to 10 years in prison on the reckless manslaughter charge when he is sentenced in April. Stoedter's plea agreement requires him to serve no less than 8 1/2 years.

Stoedter originally told the Manasquan Police Department that his then 43-year-old wife had been shot during a home invasion. Officers reported finding Donna Stoedter dead on the floor of a bedroom.
Monmouth County Prosecutor Peter Warshaw was unavailable to comment when reached by telephone on Thursday evening.
