Three Former Belmar Lifeguards Sue Borough for Not Being Rehired
Three former lifeguards have sued Belmar because the borough allegedly held their ages against them and did not rehire them.

Three former lifeguards have sued Belmar because the borough allegedly held their ages against them and did not rehire them, according to a lawsuit they filed in state superior court.
Ray Elms, 63, Harry Harsin, 56, and Timothy O'Donnell, 73, say that the borough administration deliberately replaced them with younger, less-qualified lifeguards and that a former mayor made false and defamatory statements about the beach patrol in open meetings and the media, according to The Asbury Park Press.
While all three lifeguards reapplied for their positions, none were contacted for an interview, according to tapinto.net.
