William Siegel Heulitt Of Manasquan Dies At 88

Services for U.S. Navy World War II veteran slated for Wednesday and Thursday.

William Siegel Heulitt, 88, of Manasquan passed away Sunday at home with his loving family at his side.

Born in Spring Lake, he was a lifelong resident of Manasquan. He served his country proudly during World War II in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater. He was an officer of the Manasquan Police Department and the Marine Bureau of the New Jersey State Police. He was a lifelong volunteer for the Manasquan Hook and Ladder Co. #1.

Mr. Heulitt was predeceased by his parents, Siegel and Mabel Heulitt and by his sister, Joyce Heulitt Schultz. Surviving are his beloved wife of 67 years, Jean Heulitt; five children, Raymond and his wife, Cynthia Heulitt of Monroe Township; Bonnie Fossett and her husband, John of Hollis Center, ME , Timothy Heulitt, Sr. of Manasquan, Ronald Heulitt of New Braunfels, TX, and Terry Scherer and her husband, Steve, of Manasquan; 13 grandchildren, Deena Harmon, David Heulitt, Karla Fossett, John (Jack) Fossett, Karen Dyer, Timothy Heulitt, Jr., Kyleen Heulitt, Kira and Melissa Mabel, Dana Scherer, and Tyler, Trevor and Brooke Heulitt; five great-grandchildren, Nicole and Alex Harmon, Anthony Russo-Heulitt, and Annabelle and Celeste Fossett; and a brother, Leona A. Heulitt and his family.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Neary Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South Street, Manasquan . A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Atlantic View Cemetery, Manasquan.
