2 19-Year-Olds Charged, $5K In Heroin Seized: Manchester Police

MANCHESTER, NJ — Two 19-year-olds are facing drug charges after authorities seized $5,000 worth of heroin from their vehicle following a motor vehicle stop, Manchester police said Saturday.

Nyqua J. Reed and Diavian K. Jiles, both from Trenton, were arrested Friday by the Manchester Police Department's Narcotics Enforcement Team following the traffic stop on Route 70 near New Jersey Way, Capt. Todd Malland said.

The narcotics team was doing surveillance in the area at the time, Malland said, and stopped them due to a motor vehicle violation.

A search of the vehicle turned up 1,000 wax folds of heroin, Malland said.

Reed was charged with possession of heroin, possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, loitering to distribute heroin, obstruction and failure to surrender CDS, Malland said.

Jiles was charged with possession of heroin and failure to surrender CDS, he said.

In addition to the heroin, police seized cash and the vehicle pending forfeiture.

Assisting in the investigation were members of the department’s K-9 Unit and Patrol Bureau.
