2 Charged As Heroin, Methamphetamine Seized In Lakehurst Stop: Police

A Toms River woman and a Jackson man were being held after authorities seized drugs following a motor vehicle stop.

LAKEHURST, NJ — A Toms River woman and a Jackson man are facing drug charges after heroin and methamphetamine were found following a motor vehicle stop in Lakehurst on Tuesday, police said.

John E. Rivera, 40, of Jackson, and Nichole Ambrosio, 35, of Toms River, are both being held in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River following the stop that happened shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday, Lakehurst police said.

Sgt. Jason Guide pulled over an Infiniti sedan at the Travel Inn and Suites motel for careless driving, and Rivera, who was the passenger, was found to have an active criminal warrant for his arrest, police said.

A search of the car turned up 45 wax folds of heroin, an unspecified amount of methamphetamine and a switchblade, along with "an abundance of drug paraphernalia," police said.

Rivera and Ambrosio, the driver, were both charged with two counts of possession of CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia, being under the influence of CDS, and possession of a prohibited weapon, police said.
