2 Children Flee Luring Attempt In Manchester; Man, SUV Sought

Manchester police are seeking the public's help in finding the SUV and the driver who approached two children Saturday in Pine Lake Park.

MANCHESTER, NJ — Authorities are seeking the public's help in tracking down a man who tried to lure two children into a minivan in Pine Lake Park.

Manchester police said they are seeking a tan-colored SUV, believed to be an early to mid-2000s Chevrolet Equinox or Saturn Vue with a distinctive black rear bumper. The man driving it was described as middle-aged and had a darker complexion and black facial hair.

Police were told the SUV stopped in front of a home on the 1100 block of Englemere Boulevard in Pine Lake Park about 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, and the driver tried to lure two children into his vehicle. Police did not say how old the children were or describe them further.

The children ran into a house and the suspect took off, police said.

Manchester police are asking any residents in the area with exterior surveillance cameras to please check to see if the SUV was captured in their footage around the time of the luring attempt.
