2017-18 Manchester Schools Back-To-School Nights

MANCHESTER, NJ — Here are the important dates you need to know for the Manchester Township School District calendar for 2017-18.

School opens on Wednesday, Sept. 6, and the last day is tentatively set for June 18, 2018. There are no emergency closing days built into the calendar.

Back-to-school nights have been scheduled as follows:

• Manchester Township Middle School: Wednesday, Sept. 13, 6:30 p.m.
• Manchester Township Elementary School: Thursday Sept. 14, 6,:30 p.m.
• Manchester Township High School: Tuesday, Sept. 19, 6:30 p.m.
• Ridgeway Elementary School: Tuesday, Sept. 26, 6:30 p.m.
• Whiting Elementary School: Thursday, Sept. 28, 6:30 p.m.
• Regional Day School: Wednesday, Oct. 4, 6:30 p.m.

The meetings for parents whose children are receiving basic skills instruction are on the same dates beginning at 6 p.m. for all schools except Regional Day School, the district said.

Sept. 6: First day of school

Oct. 5: Midterm notices

Oct. 9: School closed for students for Columbus Day (professional development day for staff)

Oct. 13-14: Homecoming at Manchester Township High School

Nov. 6-10: Closed for Election Day and NJEA Convention

Nov. 22: High school first marking period report cards and portfolios issued

Nov. 29: Kindergarten through 8th grade, first marking period report cards and portfolios issued

Nov. 23 & 24: Schools closed For Thanksgiving

Dec. 19: Second marking period midterm notices

Dec. 23-Jan. 1: Schools closed for Winter Break

Jan. 15: Schools closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Jan. 31: Staff in-service; no school for students

Feb. 2: High school report cards and portfolios

Feb. 9: K-8 report cards and portfolios

Feb. 19: Schools closed for Presidents Day

March 5: Third marking midterm notices

March 30-April 8: Schools closed for Spring Break

April 20: High school report cards and portfolios

April 24: K-8 report cards and portfolios

May 15: Fourth marking period midterm notices

May 28: Schools closed for Memorial Day

June 17: Middle school graduation (tentative)

June 18: High school graduation (tentative) and last day of school
