7-Mile Route 70 Paving Project Starts In Manchester, Points West
The $12.2 million project is expected to be done 7 days a week and take until the end of the year to complete, the NJDOT said.

MANCHESTER, NJ — If you're traveling Route 70 from Ocean County to and from points west in the coming weeks, give yourself more time: The state Department of Transportation announced that a paving project on seven miles of Route 70 from Pemberton through Manchester got under way as of Wednesday morning.
The DOT news release issued Wednesday said the work will result in temporary shoulder closures and traffic shifts from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. seven days a week as contractor A.E. Stone works on the project. Work is starting just east of North Branch Road in Pemberton, and then moving east and finishing at Lacey Road/County Route 539 in Manchester.
The work will continue until the end of the year, the DOT said.

The $12.2 million improvement project includes a full-depth pavement reclamation and rubblization, milling and paving, guiderail upgrades, and construction of ADA-compliant curbs and ramps, and drainage improvements on approximately seven miles of roadway, as well as intersection work at Whiting New Egypt Road/CR539.
Occasional overnight work may be necessary during construction.
