84-Year-Old Manchester Woman Drives Car Into Garage Door

When patrol units arrived, they saw a 2001 Ford Escort operated by 84-year-old Mary Crichton of Manchester partially into the garage.

An 84-year-old Manchester woman was injured after driving her car into a garage door, police said.

At 12:30 p.m. Manchester Township Police responded to 2B Conestoga Drive in the Whiting section of the township after learning of a single-vehicle crash into the garage of the residence, police said.

When patrol units arrived, they saw a 2001 Ford Escort operated by 84-year-old Mary Crichton of Manchester partially into the garage of the residence, police said.

Crichton was properly restrained at the time of the crash, and complained of leg pain. She was subsequently transported to Community Medical Center by Quality Medical Transport for her injuries, police said.

The crash is currently under investigation by Ptl. Nicholas Greenwood. The building inspector deemed the property safe for habitation with damage limited primarily to the garage door and vehicle, police said.

Assisting at the crash were the following agencies; Whiting Volunteer Fire Company, Quality Medical Transport, and the Manchester Township Building Inspector.
