JACKSON, NJ — It's been a busy season for the veterinary staff at Six Flags Great Adventure, as the Wild Safari has welcomed several baby animals this spring.
Among the new faces are two giraffe calves, several zebra foals and a black bear cub, park officials said.
One of the giraffe calves is a female named Mina, who was born May 26 to Taka, the staff said. Her father is Tusk. A second giraffe calf has not yet been named.
The black bear cub, meanwhile, is named Artemis.
For those who go to the park, the Wild Safari can be accessed with a separate ticket if you only want to tour the safari.
The Wild Safari Off-Road Adventure is included in the Great Adventure ticket price and accessible inside the park from the Wild Safari Off-Road Adventure station in the Frontier Adventures section of the park, next to the Log Flume.
The Wild Safari is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily beginning Thursday, June 18, according to the Six Flags website.
The amusement park will have later hours on Fridays and Saturdays, according to the calendar.
Here is a glimpse of the safari and some of its inhabitants from an April visit. Descriptions of the Wild Safari inhabitants are on the Six Flags website.
