MANCHESTER, NJ — Manchester Township will be opening a cooling center for Manchester residents while Ocean County is under the effects of extreme heat heading into the Fourth of July weekend.
The shelter will be at the Manchester Township Emergency Services Annex at 82 Lacey Road in Whiting, and will be open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday and Friday.
"We especially encourage older adults, young children, individuals with medical conditions, and those without adequate air conditioning to take advantage of this air-conditioned facility," Manchester officials said.
