MANCHESTER, NJ — Manchester Township's Department of Utilities is conducting its fall fire hydrant flushing around the township.
The flushing will be performed through September and October.
Each community will be notified when flushing begins in their area, the utilities department said.
Flushing hours will vary and it will take place during the day and at night.
"During this time, you will experience a difference in pressure and discoloration," officials said. "Run your cold-water tap only until it runs clear."
"We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause," officials said.
Hydrant flushing is a key part of maintenance for water service and helps clear sediments that can accumulate in the water lines.
