School Bus Slams Into Jersey Shore Home

There were no students aboard the Manchester Township Schools bus at the time, officials said.

LAKEHURST, NJ — Two people were injured when a Manchester Township Schools bus hit a home in Lakehurst on Thursday morning, Lakehurst police said.

Police Chief Matthew Kline said the bus driver and a second driver suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash that happened on Union Avenue.

There were no students on the bus at the time of the incident, Kline and Manchester Township Schools spokesperson Dina Silvestri said.

There was no one in the home at the time of the crash, Kline said. He said he would be releasing additional details on the crash later Thursday.

The bus caused significant damage to the home, and a red sticker indicating the house is unsafe for occupancy was posted on a front window.
