It is likely that your Optician offered you UV protection (and explained the benefits) when you purchased your prescription eyeglasses. But neither prescription eyeglasses or over the counter sunglasses “automatically” come protected so you shouldn’t assume you are being protected simply because your glasses are prescription or have dark lenses.
