Bicyclist Killed In Hit-And-Run Crash In Jackson
Authorities say they are searching for a red SUV that left the scene after another driver to swerved to avoid it and hit the bicyclist.

JACKSON, NJ — Authorities are searching for the driver who left the scene of a crash in Jackson that killed a bicyclist on Sunday.
The crash happened about noon on Farmingdale Road, according to a joint statement from Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Jackson Police Chief Matthew Kunz.
A 2017 Audi A4 was headed west on Farmingdale Road when the driver swerved to avoid a head-on collision with a red SUV, authorities said.

In swerving into the left lane to avoid the SUV, the Audi hit a bicyclist, then overcorrected his steering and the Audi hit a tree, authorities said.
The red SUV kept going east on Farmingdale Road and left the scene, authorities said.

The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the Audi was treated for minor injuries at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold Township, they said. Neither person was identified.
Authorities said the vehicle that caused the crash is believed to be a red or maroon Hyundai driven by a Caucasian woman with a young male child.
