Bowlers Honored for Winning Seasons
Manchester Board of Education presented certificates to bowlers at its April 13 meeting
The Manchester High School boys and girls bowlers were honored by the township Board of Education for again having winning seasons.
Athletic director Keith Lister said that the accomplishments of the squads this season, which included conference and sectional titles, have made bowling "the most successful program we've had" at the high school.
"It kind of puts pressure on everyone else to meet that standard," he said.

, led by coach Mike McCrae, won the Shore Conference A South, were the NJSIAA South Jersey Group II sectional champions for the fifth consecutive year and were the overall Group II state champions for the third consecutive year.
The girls ended their regular season in first place, finishing one point ahead of Brick Township.

, led by coach Bryan Vargas, took home the NJSIAA South Jersey Group II sectional championship title.
They finished in second place in the regular season, 20 points behind Brick Memorial and one point ahead of Toms River East.
Superintendent David Trethaway said that each winning season is unique, as players come and go and coaches work to find a winning dynamic.
"It seems like it's a yearly event for these guys," he said. "Both the bowling teams, they just do outstanding."
"Not matter how many times you do it, it's special," Trethaway said. "We get spoiled here in Manchester because it's happened a number of times. We're very proud of the bowling program."
