The boys, from Jackson and Holmdel, had been reported missing from a group home in another county, officials said.
JACKSON, NJ — Two teens, ages 15 and 13, have been charged with hindering apprehension and receiving stolen property after they were found Tuesday in a pickup that had been reported stolen from Asbury Park, Jackson police said Wednesday.
Capt. Steve Laskiewicz said Officers Kevin Scheuerman and Michael Collins were checking an undeveloped cul-de-sac off of Clearstream Road at about 11:50 a.m. Tuesday when they saw a pickup truck at the rear of the area.
The officers saw two boys inside a gray 2007 Ford F150 pickup with a red tailgate and realized the pickup truck matched the vehicle description from an incident reported Monday on North Boston Road. The investigation confirmed the Ford was reported stolen out of Asbury Park, Laskiewicz said.
