A Break In Manchester: New Jersey Natural Gas To Give Bill Credits

The gas utility says the amount will be determined in the fall.

At a time when the cost of everything seems to keep going up, New Jersey Natural Gas customers are getting some good news: the natural gas you use to heat your home will cost less this coming winter.

The company made the announcement in May, according to the Asbury Park Press.

The reduction for residential customers and small businesses will come in the form of a bill credit, the utility said. It estimates a reduction of $63.7 million from November 2015 through February 2016, the report said.

Customers in Brick and other towns -- New Jersey Natural Gas serves most of Ocean County -- could see a savings of 14.3 percent, based on annual usage of 1,000 therms, the utility said.
