Mark Your Calendar And Grab Your Spoon For Lakehurst Historical Society Chili Cook-Off
The annual Soup-R-Bowl of Chili Challenge returns to Lakehurst. Bring your appetite and help judge the entries.
LAKEHURST, NJ — The Lakehurst Borough Historical Society is holding its annual Soup-R-Bowl of Chili Challenge on Jan. 28.
The event is a fundraiser for the Lakehurst Borough Historical Society Museum and features area clubs and organizations making their soups and chili to compete for the trophies of People's Choice.
Some of the organizations that have announced plans to compete this year are the borough First Aid, borough police, the Fleet Reserve, Arista Care Cooking Club, and the historical society will have an entry as well.

The chili challenge will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Lakehurst Community Center across from the museum in Old St. John's Church on Center Street.
The donation is $5 per person, children under 3 years admitted free. A gift basket auction and 50/50 add to the festivities. Tickets are available at the museum, at Colonial Bouquet flower shop on Union Avenue, and at the door. The doors open at 3 p.m.

Additional groups and organizations are welcome to bring their best chili to the competition. Groups that would like to join should contact Kathy at 908-839-7388 by Monday, Jan. 23.
