Chilly Penguin Plunge A Success In Manchester

Regional Day School received a nice donation for its prom and graduation ceremonies, school official says.

MANCHESTER, NJ -- The sixth annual Penguin Plunge brought out 30 participants, and in the race between Mayor Ken Palmer and Manchester Township HIgh School Principal Dennis Adams, it was the mayor who came out ahead.

Palmer had challenged Adams to see who could raise the most funds during the event, which raises money for the senior prom and graduation ceremonies at the Regional Day School in Manchester.

The plungers raised more than $2,500 through the event, organizers said. How much Palmer beat Adams by is not known, but Adams was to donate $20 in Palmer's honor because Palmer won.
