Council, School Board Reorganizations Set In Manchester

The new year kicks off with the reorganization of the Township Council and the school board, which will have new members sworn in.

MANCHESTER, NJ — Manchester Township's Council and Board of Education have scheduled their reorganization meetings for 2024.

The council reorganization is set for 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 2, in the court room at the township municipal building, 1 Colonial Drive.

Councilman Craig Wallis, who ran unopposed and won the final year of the unexpired term of former Councilman Samuel Fusaro, will be sworn in at the meeting, and the council will choose a council president for the year at the meeting and introduce preliminary budget funds. The council agenda had not been posted as of Friday evening.

Meeting dates for the year will be approved as well.

The Manchester Township Board of Education has its reorganization meeting set for 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, at Manchester Township Middle School, 2759 Ridgeway Road.

The school board meeting will include the swearing in of Laura Wingler, who was the top vote-getter in November with 5,184 votes as she won election to her second term. Joining her will be Gloria Adkinson, who received 4,837 votes, and Timothy Poss, who received 4,289 votes. Poss had been appointed in August to the seat held by Ken Pate, who stepped down from the board over the summer. Gina Georgiano, who had been seeking re-election, was ousted from her seat.
