Delayed Opening Announced For Manchester Schools

Up to 4 inches of snow are predicted for the Shore, with messy driving conditions in the morning on Jan. 16.

MANCHESTER, NJ — The Manchester Township School District has announced a 90-minute delayed opening for Tuesday morning, Jan. 16, with weather expected to make driving conditions slippery.

The delayed opening includes Regional Day School, officials said.

All before-school activities including the morning YKids program are canceled.

"We will monitor the situation to determine if further action is needed," the district said.

The National Weather Service is predicting 1 to 4 inches of snow along the Shore, with a switch over to freezing rain and rain in the morning.

Here is the schedule for the schools under the delayed opening:

Manchester Township High School: 8:40 a.m.-1:38 p.m.

Manchester Township Middle School: 9:09 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Manchester Township Elementary School: 10:20 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

MTES Preschool Hours: 10:20 a.m.-2:50 p.m.

Ridgeway Elementary School: 9:45 a.m.-3 p.m.

Ridgeway Preschool Hours: 9:45 a.m.-2:20 p.m.

Whiting Elementary School: 10:15 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Whiting Preschool Hours: 10:20 a.m.-2:50 p.m.

Regional Day School: 10:15 a.m.-2:45 p.m.
