Driver Sought In Hit-And-Run That Killed Dog In Manchester

Surveillance videos captured the vehicle police say is responsible for the hit-and-run; police said the driver did not report the incident.

MANCHESTER, NJ — Manchester Township police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a driver who hit and killed a dog in the township Sunday morning.

Police were called to the area of Charles Avenue and Nathan Avenue in the Summit Park section at 10:22 a.m. Sunday, for a dog that was dead in the road.

Their investigation turned up surveillance footage captured by neighboring homes that show a dark-colored SUV that police believe is responsible, police said.

The driver left the area before police arrived and did not report the crash, police said. They shared videos of the SUV in hopes that someone can identify the driver, the vehicle or both. The video has been slowed down, police said.
