Route 530 Crash Involving Truck Towing Boat Injures 2 In Manchester: Police
The early investigation indicates a driver pulled into the path of the vehicle that was towing the boat, police said.

MANCHESTER, NJ — One person was flown to the hospital with serious injuries Monday following a three-vehicle crash on Route 530 in Manchester that injured two people, police said.
Samuel Little, 55, suffered injuries to his neck, back, and chest, and was flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune by Hackensack Meridian Health medevac helicopter, Manchester Capt. Vincent Manco said. Little was listed as stable, Manco said.
Also hurt was Gwen Paulson, 71, who suffered facial injuries, he said. Paulson was taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River; her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, Manco said.

The crash was reported at 2:49 p.m. Monday, Manco said.
Little was driving a black 2005 GMC Sierra and hauling a trailer and boat west on Route 530 when a red 2005 Dodge Dakota driven by Mahmut Ilhan, 55, pulled out from South Columbus Boulevard to make a left turn onto Route 530 and collided with the GMC, Manco said. The impact sent both vehicles into the path of a blue 2021 Hyundai Venue driven by Paulson, with the Hyundai hitting the Dodge in the passenger side, he said.

Ilhan was not injured, Manco said.
The investigation is ongoing, but Manco said the preliminary investigation has found that disregarding a stop sign and failure to yield the right of way appear to be the primary contributing factors.
Assisting at the scene were EMTs and firefighters from the Manchester Township Division of Emergency Services, firefighters from the Whiting Volunteer Fire Department, and EMTs from Berkeley Township, he said.
The crash caused traffic delays on Route 530 while officers conducted the investigation. Patrolman Michael O’Hara of the department’s Traffic Safety Unit is investigating.
