E-Bike Rider Hit After Running Stop Sign In Manchester: Police
The man from Manchester remained hospitalized Sunday, police said.

MANCHESTER, NJ — A Manchester man riding an electric bicycle was injured Saturday when he ran a stop sign and was hit by an SUV, police said Sunday.
Scott Sheets, 51, was listed as stable at Community Medical Center in Toms River on Sunday, where he was taken for treatment after the crash, Capt. James Komsa said.
Sheets was riding along Savannah Road in Pine Lake Park about 2:45 p.m. Saturday when he failed to stop at a stop sign at 10th Avenue, Komsa said. He was hit in the intersection by a 2017 Nissan Rogue, he said.

Komsa said the crash remains under investigation.
He said the police department reminds residents that while low-speed electric bicycles are permitted on roads in New Jersey, there are restrictions and additional requirements of riders.

Riders also must wear a helmet, keep to the right and obey all motor vehicle laws.
