Eastern Service Area Water Restrictions Lifted
Summer restrictions on watering in the township's eastern service area have ended

Township restrictions outlining when residents in the eastern service area were allowed to water lawns and landscaping have been lifted, according to Manchester Mayor Michael Fressola's .
Residents no longer need to follow the , which mandated that lawns could be watered only on designated days depending on street address before 10 a.m. or after 5 p.m.
Restrictions were put in place as water demand this summer exceeded the "historical highs" of the summer of 2010, according to the mayor's office.

"Reducing peak demands is essential to our provision of an uninterrupted supply of water throughout the summer months, particularly in emergencies, such as fires," states a press release from Fressola.
The mayor's office thanked all of the customers in the area for complying with the restrictions.

The eastern service area "generally includes the portion of the township lying along Route 37 and those portions lying to the east of Route 37, the Borough of Lakehurst and the Lakehurst Naval Air Engineering Station and Warfare Center," the release states.
