Ocean County Center for Culinary Arts is welcoming Manchester and county residents to open house today 11-4

Do you love to cook? Have you thought about making a career of it?

Today from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Ocean County Center for Culinary Arts is holding an open house at its facilities at Cuisine on the Green in Little Egg Harbor.

The next training session begins in March, and as part of the open house -- where you can tour the facilities and learn about the program -- it is Instant Admission Decision Day as well, where you can complete all application requirements today as well.

Cuisine on the Green is part of the Ocean County Vocational Technical School district. This program offers an accelerated approach to developing skills needed for employment in the food and hospitality industries and is open to adults, 18 and over, with a high school diploma or GED. The 10-month curriculum includes classroom instruction, culinary skills training and working internships.

Cuisine on the Green is located at the Atlantis Golf Course in Little Egg Harbor, and essential elements of the course include training students in the use of locally-sourced foods, responsibly-caught seafood and environmentally-conscious practices.

The 10-month full-time program qualifies for federal financial aid and veterans education benefits. The OCVTS financial aid specialist will be on hand to assist in the application process.
