Failure To Signal Turn Leads Meth Discovery, 3 Arrests In Lakehurst: Police

Three Pennsylvania residents were charged after an investigation sparked by the traffic stop, police said.

LAKEHURST, NJ — A Pennsyvania man's failure to signal his turn led to drug charges for himself and his companions in Lakehurst, borough police said.

James Ainsworth, 34, of Levittown, PA; Jonathon Stec, 30, of Morrisville, PA, and Desiree Bleistein, 34, of Levittown, PA, all were arrested Sept. 17 after a traffic stop by Officer Jonathan Papernik, Lakehurst Police Chief Eric Higgins said Tuesday.

Papernick stopped a 2002 Buick Regal driven by Ainsworth about 4:35 p.m. that day for the violation, Higgins said.

The on-scene investigation led to a search of the vehicle and its occupants, and officers located an unspecified quantity of methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a hypodermic syringe, he said.

Bleinstein was charged with possession of methamphetamine and failure to wear her seat belt, he said. Ainsworth was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle, Higgins said. He also received a traffic summons for failing to signal the turn.
