Farmers Market, Summer Concerts, Theater Trips On Tap In Manchester

The Recreation Department has released its events calendar for 2023. Take a look.

MANCHESTER, NJ — Mark your calendar for fun: The Manchester Township Recreation Department has released a schedule of events for 2023.

Some of the details of the events still need to be finalized, including details of the Farmers Market that is being launched, but the recreation department has planned a full season of events.

May 29: Memorial Day Ceremony, WWII Veterans Memorial Park. Remembering all our veterans who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation

May-July: Farmers Market
It will be held at Manchester Town Hall. Additional details to come.

June 24: Manchester Day
At Harry Wright Lake. Free rides, games, contests, raffles, prizes, fireworks, vendors, entertainment and more.

Summer Concert Series

July 12, 26, Aug. 9, 23: Concerts held at Harry Wright Lake every other Wednesday starting at 6 p.m.

Aug. 5: 50th Annual Horseshoe Tournament
Held at the horseshoe pits at Harry Wright Lake

Aug. 11: A Night in Paradise Hawaiian Show
At Harry Wright Lake, featuring hula dancers, a live luau band, a Tahitian drummer and fire knife warriors

Movies at the Lake

Sept. 8, Oct. 13: Movies at Pine Lake. Free to the public, with one free bag of popcorn for all guests.
Bring lawn chairs & blankets. Movies to be announced.

Sept. 11: 9/11 Ceremony, At Manchester Town Hall.

Nov. 11: Veterans Day Ceremony, at Town Hall, to honor all the men and women who have served our country.

Dec. 1: Annual Tree Lighting. Ring in the holiday season by celebrating at the Court House Entrance to town hall. Holiday songs, Santa Claus and more.

Dec. 9: Christmas in the Pines, Harry Wright Lake

December, date to be announced: Menorah Lighting at town hall

Holiday Home Decorating Contest: December. Details to be announced. You must be registered Please leave your lights on until 11 p.m. the week of judging.

Theater Trips

May 2: "Million Dollar Quartet," Hunterdon Hills Playhouse, West Hampton, NJ
$130 per person includes bus transportation, lunch and the show. Bus leaves from the soccer field parking lot at 9:15 a.m.; lunch is at 11 a.m., followed by the show. You must register ahead of time.

June 13: "Steel Pier," Surflight Theatre, Beach Haven
$99 per person for bus, lunch at Lefty’s Tavern and the show. Bus leaves from the soccer field parking lot at 10:15 a.m.; Lunch is at 11 a.m. followed by the show at 2 p.m. You must register ahead of time.

Sept. 12: "Grumpy Old Men," Surflight Theatre, Beach Haven
$98 per person for bus, lunch at The Waterfront and the show. Bus leaves from the soccer field parking lot at 10:15 a.m., lunch is at 11 a.m., followed by the show at 2 p.m. You must register ahead of time.

Oct. 12: "Dracula a Comedy of Terrors," Surflight Theatre, Beach Haven
$108 per person for bus, lunch at Buckalew’s and the show. Bus leaves from the soccer field parking lot at 10:15 a.m., lunch at 11:30 a.m. and showtime is 2 p.m. You must register ahead of time.

Dec. 5: "Christmas at the Playhouse '23," Hunterdon Hills Playhouse, West Hampton
$125 per person for bus, lunch and the show. Bus leaves from the soccer field parking lot at 9:15 a.m., lunch is at 11 a.m. followed by the show. You must register ahead of time.
