FEMA Grant Will Fund Generator For Manchester Municipal Complex
Grant covers 90 percent of the cost of the project, officials say

During Hurricane Sandy, the Manchester Township municipal complex lost power, like so much of the Jersey Shore.
The outages affected not just electrical power at town hall, but also the ability to pump gas in police and public works vehicles to keep those vehicles ready to respond to residents and emergencies, township officials said recently.
It’s a situation they hope to never encounter again.

Manchester Township has been awarded a Federal Emergency Management Agency Hazard Mitigation grant for the purchase of an emergency generator for the municipal complex, acting township Business Administrator Brian Klimakowski said last week.
The project is expected to cost $567,875, with FEMA funding $516,337, roughly 90 percent of the cost, with the funding available for two years.
