Fire Damages Crestwood Village 6 Home In Manchester
Firefighters were able to contain the fire and limit the damage, officials said.
MANCHESTER, NJ — A fire at a home in Crestwood Village 6 was quickly extinguished Sunday evening, fire company officials said.
The fire was reported about 6 p.m., Whiting Volunteer Fire Company officials said, and within 8 minutes firefighters were pouring water on the fire that had flames showing from one side of the house.
The fire was quickly knocked down and damage limited to the area where the fire started, fire company officials said, which allowed the homeowner to stay in his home after the fire was out and officials declared it safe.

Assisting were firefighters from Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, Ridgeway and Manchester companies and the Ocean County Fire Coordinator. Forked River firefighters provided support.
Manchester police and the Ocean County fire marshal were investigating the cause of the fire.
