The Manchester football team saw its perseverance pay off on Friday night.
Javier Holguin ran for touchdown in the fourth quarter to put the Hawks ahead for good, as Manchester earned its first victory of the season with a 21-17 defeat of Donovan Catholic on Senior Night, according to the Shore Sports Network.

Jerry Blackburn and Jasir Cooper also scored rushing touchdowns for Manchester (1-9, 1-6) to give head coach Bill Furlong his first victory.
