UPDATE: Manchester Schools' Snow Day Extends Year; Note About 'Grease' Tickets
The high school's theatrical group was scheduled to perform the musical "Grease" tonight.

UPDATE:
Thursday’s snow day, the third emergency closure of the year, is expected to extend the school year until Monday, June 22. Lee Bruzaitis, the district’s public information officer, said there are no snow days built into the district’s calendar.
“Generally, they are added to the end of the year but if necessary days may be taken from spring break,” she said. The June 22 date is tenative, pending approval from the Board of Education.

The Saturday matinee, at 2 p.m., was added when the storm forced the cancellation of school.
PREVIOUSLY:
The approaching storm and the declaration of a state of emergency declared by Gov. Chris Christie have prompted school officials in Manchester to close schools for Thursday.
It also forced the district to postpone Thursday’s opening night performance of the musical “Grease.” Instead, those who hold tickets for Thursday’s performance will have the option to use their tickets either Friday or Saturday evenings, or for a matinee showing at 2 p.m. Saturday. Those unable to use their Thursday tickets will be eligible for a full refund.
Those needing further information regarding the musical can email Christine Newbury (cnewbury@mtschools.org) with any questions or concerns.
