Four Hurt As Two-Vehicle Crash Shuts Route 37: Manchester Police

One man was seriously injured in the crash caused when he ran a red light, Manchester police said.

MANCHESTER, NJ -- Four people were injured, one seriously, when a pickup truck ran a red light on Route 37 and hit a car Wednesday afternoon, Manchester police said Wednesday evening.

Glenn Disman Jr., 31, of Jackson, was westbound on Route 37 a little after 2:30 p.m. when he failed to stop for the red signal, Capt. Todd Malland said. Disman's Ford F-150 hit a Honda Civic being driven by Christopher Williams, 26, of Manchester. Williams, who had two teenage male passengers, ages 14 and 15, was crossing Route 37 from Buckingham Drive onto Bone Hill Road, Malland said.

The force of the collision sent Disman’s vehicle into a traffic signal light pole, dislodging it from its base, before the F-150 rolled over several times and came to rest in the left lane westbound, Malland said. Disman suffered numerous lacerations and was taken by ambulance to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, Malland said; his current condition is not known.
