Free Summer Meals For Manchester Students
Students who received free or reduced price lunches at school are eligible for a summer meal program to keep kids fed.
MANCHESTER, NJ — Manchester Township students who received free or reduced-price lunches during the school year are eligible for a summer meal program that aims to make sure students are fed during the break.
The program is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture and the following people are eligible:
- Children 18 years of age and younger who come to an approved open site or site to which they are enrolled.
- Adults over 18 years of age who are enrolled in school programs for persons with disabilities may also receive meals.
- At sites that require enrollment, benefits are available only to children who received free or reduced-price meals.
The Summer Food Service Program is available at several sites in Ocean County. To find sites near you, text FOOD to 877877 or Summer Meals to 97779 or visit the USDA site finder website at: www.fns.usda.gov/summerfoodrocks

Lakehurst Elementary School, 301 Union Ave., Lakehurst. Phone: 609-312-8344 Operating through Aug. 31, closed July 3. Serving Monday through Friday, breakfast from 8 a.m.-9 a.m. and lunch from noon-2 p.m.

Ocean County Y Kids at the Ocean County YMCA, 1088 West Whitty Road, Toms River. Phone: 732-341-9622. Operating through Aug. 28, closed on July 3. Get lunch and an afternoon snack Monday through Friday, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
South Toms River Elementary School, 419 Dover Road, Toms River. Phone: 732-341-9622 Operating through July 15, closed on July 3. Serving emergency meals due to Covid-19 Monday through Friday; lunch 11 a.m.-1 p.m., afternoon snack, 2 p.m.-3 p.m.
The Summer Food Service Program is authorized by Section 13 of the National School Lunch Act
and Child Nutrition Act of 1966 as amended by Public Law 103-448.
