Friends Raising Funds For Family Of Fallen Manchester Officer
Officer Scott Thompson, 47, died Friday after collapsing while working out.

As the Manchester Township community mourns the death of Officer Scott Thompson, it is already taking steps to ensure his family’s needs are looked after.
“Scott was a kind, dedicated officer and family man,” Manchester Police Chief Lisa Parker said. “He loved his family and his fellow officers. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers. We all loved Scott and he will be missed terribly.”
Thompson, who had been with the Manchester force since 1999, collapsed Friday morning while working out at the department’s gym. He leaves behind a wife, Tracy, and daughters Kelsey and Sydney.

James Gant, a communications supervisor in the department, has set up a GoFundMe account to raise funds to help Thompson’s wife and daughters with some of the immediate expenses.
“Scott was a family man through and through and loved spending time with his wife, Tracy and two daughters, Kelsey and Sydney. Scott was also a decorated Police Officer with the Manchester Township Police, dedicating his life to serving Manchester’s residents and fulfilling his duty to Protect and Serve,” Gant wrote on the account’s page.
“Many have asked what they could do to help during this unimaginable time. We felt that setting up this account would give everyone the ability to contribute in some way, whether big or small,” he wrote.
