Gas Pipeline Information Session Set For Thursday
New Jersey Natural Gas proposes to build a new transmission line that will connect with Manchester's distribution system.

New Jersey Natural Gas will be holding an information session Thursday on its proposal to build and operate a new transmission pipeline that will connect to an existing distribution system in Manchester, township officials said in a news release.
The session is set for 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Upper Elementary School, 46 School House Road, New Hanover Township, according to the release.
The proposed pipeline, called the Southern Reliability Link. will provide supply diversity and system resiliency, New Jersey Natural Gas said in the news release, “supporting the safe, reliable distribution of natural gas to more than 1 million people throughout Monmouth, Ocean and Burlington counties.”

The proposed project would begin at the supply point of the interstate pipeline in Chesterfield Township, Burlington County, and continue through North Hanover, Upper Freehold and Plumsted until it enters the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, the release said. From the Joint Base, it will connect with NJNG’s distribution system in Manchester Township, it said.
The open house will include project experts in the field of safety, environment, land, engineering and pipeline construction.
